Ticket sales for the master classes by Viggo Mortensen and Albert Dupontel are closed. Tickets will be available on the same day of each event at the Comédie Odéon.

Sunday, October 11 at 3:30 pm at the Comédie Odéon

Discovered on a worldwide scale thanks to playing Aragorn in the trilogy of The Lord of the Rings (Peter Jackson), Viggo Mortensen has accumulated striking roles, ranging from the disturbed in A History of Violence (David Cronenberg, 2005), to the poetic in Captain Fantastic (Matt Ross, 2016). The year 2020 signals his directorial debut with Falling, selected at Cannes and premiering at Lumière.

Thomas Vinterberg

Monday, October 12 at 3 pm at the Comédie Odéon

Vital Danish filmmaker and founding member of the Dogme 95 movement with Lars von Trier, Thomas Vinterberg affirms an undeniable presence in the cinematographic landscape. His debut feature film (The Celebration) - first of the Dogme - was rewarded at the Cannes Film Festival in 1998. Through his words and behaviour, he creates films that jostle us. Lumière will premiere his new film, Another Round, starring the stirring Mads Mikkelsen.

Alice Rohrwacher

Tuesday, October 13 at 3 pm at the Comédie Odéon

A leading figure in Italian auteur cinema, Alice Rohrwacher directed her first feature film, Corpo Celeste, in 2011. She quickly established herself as a major director of the new Italian generation; Rohrwacher superimposes styles, sketching each of her characters with finesse. Awarded at Cannes in 2014 for The Wonders, her writing talents were recognized in 2018 for Happy as Lazzaro.

Gabriel Yared

Thursday, October 15 at 3 pm at the Comédie Odéon

The César and Oscar-winning Franco-Lebanese composer of countless unforgettable musical themes, Gabriel Yared draws his inspiration from both scholarly and popular music. After meeting Jean-Luc Godard, he composed his first score for the film Every Man for Himself. From then on, Yared has continued creating for the cinema; for Jean-Jacques Beineix, Anthony Minghella, Xavier Dolan, for movies Betty Blue, Camille Claudel or Azur and Asmar - The Princes' Quest.

Albert Dupontel

Friday, October 16 at 11 am at the Comédie Odéon

Actor, director and screenwriter Albert Dupontel deploys his talent with a special mastery of the absurd and the grotesque. As an actor, he plays his roles with singularity; as a director, he sets out to create a whole plethora of characters, each more delectable and complex than the next, from Bernie to See You Up There to 9-Month Stretch. This year marks the release of his new film, Bye Bye Morons, which will be screened as a premiere at the Lumière festival.
