Jean-Pierre et Luc Dardenne
Prix Lumière 2020

Directors of incomparable style and precision, acclaimed discoverers of actors, the Dardenne brothers have sealed their mark on contemporary cinema with their powerful vision. In their work, the poetics of reality are pushed to their pinnacle, a nod to their origin as documentary filmmakers. Celebrated on the international scene and admired by their peers, they have won two Palme d'Or awards and several others at the Cannes Film Festival. Along with this year’s special guests, Lyon audiences and all the festivalgoers, the time has come to celebrate the work of Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne for what it is: humanist, bold, committed, turned towards the young generation and crying out for truth.

In collaboration with Films du Fleuve, ARP Sélection, Diaphana and the Cinematek (Belgium).
